Lecture 10
To thee, fair Science, long and early loved,Hath been of old my open homage paid;Nor false, nor recreant have I ever proved,Nor grudged the gift upon thy altar laid. And if from thy clear path my foot have strayed,Truant awhile, 'twas but to turn, with warmAnd cheerful haste; while thou dids't not upbraid,Nor change thy guise, nor veil thy beauteous form,But welcomedst back my heart with every wonted charm.
